Leading Edge Air Operations
Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) are a rapidly advancing technology that provide unparalleled utility at a fraction of the cost of manned aircraft.
Our highly capable response personnel and equipment is supplemented by a network of experienced contractors; enabling scalability, endurance, and a variety of capabilities.
With tools and processes designed for emergency response by emergency responders, Leading Edge has a variety of deliverables and capabilities, all tuned to make UAS data immediately useful and accessible.
Pollution Response Services
Pollution Surveillance
Find the source of a release, survey and document the extent of impacts, and collect actionable data to direct operations. Leading Edge Aerial Observers create standardized pollution observation reports using common terminology from the Bonn Agreement Oil Appearance Code (BAOAC) and NOAA guidance.
Boom Inspections
Spot entrainment, anchor failures, debris entanglement, or any other boom functionality without pulling a workboat off of operations. UAS excel at quickly and efficiently monitoring boom deployed in hard to reach areas.
Leading Edge Support
An eye in the sky for skimmers and workboats in the thick of it, UAS ensure maximum recovery is achievable by providing a big picture view to vessel operators and recovery teams.
Data Made Accessible
Live Streaming
When partnered with an Incident Support Unit, Leading Edge’s UAS team can live-stream drone footage from anywhere, to anywhere, using Aloft’s encrypted live video streaming service.
Fast Mapping
Quickly develop visual reference maps of the situation how it is now. Shareable directly to GIS services, as photos, PDFs, or printed in the field by an Incident Support Unit’s onboard large format poster plotter.
Photogrammetry
UAS 3d modeling has been used by construction and mining industries for years. Now, Leading Edge brings that capability to emergency response and planning. Leading Edge’s UAS sensors, software, and processing power enables the creation of highly detailed 3d models that can be easily shared and viewed in the field, even on mobile devices. See for yourself.
